Manchester City wins the league once more!
So coming back to the post about the Liverpool and man city title race, we talked about how this will go down the wire and the final week will determine the winner. Manchester city was facing Brighton away which for some might be a walk in the park but Brighton started off well. Glenn Murray scored the opener 27 minutes in, at this point in time Liverpool was already leading Wolves at anfield by sadio mane's opener. To be honest, I thought Brighton would show up this game and upset, preventing man city the league and giving liverpool a chance at winning both premier and champions league. A dream come true for all clubs.
Manchester City lifts the trophy again.
However... Man city responded immediately, with aguero to respond with an equalizer a minute after Brighton's opener. A draw could still see liverpool lift the trophy but 10 minutes later, Laporte's insane header boosted them from second place to first place. At this point it was all over for Brighton, I was watching the game live and noticed a shift in gameplay, Brighton started to play a lot more defensively with 5 at the back. Man city at this stage was just keeping possession and fully control the rythm of the game.
Sergio Aguero equalizes immediately after Brighton leads.
Second half continued and Man city had full control of the pace and rythm of the game. The end result was 4-1 which prompted city to lift the trophy. Liverpool kept a clean sheet with 2-0 against wolves at the end of the day but the crowd had no shame in being thankful for a wonderful season.
Liverpool fans happy with Jurgen Klopp's second place.
Overall, Manchester City fully deserved the title as they had yet another terrific run this season. Liverpool on the other hand ultimately deserved to be recognized as the most improved team in the premier league as they displayed a spectacular performance throughout the season with only one single loss which was against man city. The 2018/2019 season wraps up and we will now look forward for the champions league grand final. See you guys soon
